OSU Extension: Protect Your Home from Wildfire

Fire Season is coming. Is your property prepared to withstand a blaze? Learn to give your home and property the very best chance against wildfire at this one day Citizen Fire Academy workshop. We begin the day in-class, then spend the afternoon in the field to learn firsthand how fire professionals assess fire risk at a property, and strategies for preparing for wildfire.

Participants will go home with ideas to reduce fire risk on their own properties and a better eye for spotting areas that need work. We focus on the home itself and landscaping strategies within the first 200 feet, since these areas have the greatest impact in protecting your home from a wildfire. This workshop is for homeowners whether you don’t know where to start, or if you’ve worked on your property for years, but aren’t sure if you’ve gotten everything.

Cost:

$15 per person. Includes lunch and transportation to field trip.
